MY NEW CHALKBOARD - DIY with pictures

Hey ya'll:
I wanted to make a chalkboard for my studio.  So of course, I wanted to DIY it.  I wanted to make a really big one and put some trim around it and then JUNK that trim out with some of this extra junk I have around the house (ie.  Beads, chains).  I went to home Depot and I was going to buy some board and chalk paint and paint it myself but instead they had these 9.99 2x4 ft. boards already painted so I was like why not. It saved me from getting a board cut, buying paint and actually painting the board.
After I found the board, I went on the trim isle and found some trim I liked.  It was like 75 cents a
foot so I think I used about 9 or 10 feet.  I used there little cutting station to cut my pieces for my edges of the board.

I laid my board on the floor.  I glued my trim down with Gorilla Glue and let it dry all night.

Umm K.  So, the next day, I laid everything out on the floor and tried to get my JUNK items in order.

These came from my brooch bouquet that I made when I got married 3 years ago.

Random junk that I have bought over the years.

Tons of seed beads, I had and wanted t o do something with.  So, I  put everything in a bowl and mixed it.

I then put glue on the edges of the board and started laying stuff on it.

My husband got a little upset that I had all my mess all over the kitchen floor and he was stepping on stuff.  But oh well....
I hung my board up and seasoned my board.  Apparently you must do this with all boards.

I added a little bucket for my chalk lastly and really liked that.

Now the board did not turn out exactly like I wanted it but it will do for now.  Those beads and the E6000 glue are pretty messy and by day 3, I was over it.  :)

I plan to add to the board frequently to get the look I want and to fill it up.
