Recently, I was telling some of my girlfriends that I wanted to go zip lining. They said that they were down to do so. I got online to search for the nearest Zip line near me in Memphis, TN. Great! I found one. There was a Go Ape Zip Line in Shelby Farms Park in Memphis. Woohoo, I let my girls know and we planned a Saturday.
Zip lining has been on my bucket list for years and now that I am starting on my list, I got more than what I bargained. I did not know it was a tree top adventure obstacle course. Was I in for a treat!
We went through the initial safety training on how to be safe and how to use our harnesses and making sure we always remain connected to the tree lines at all times. Even then, it didn’t hit me what I was about to do. Guess who went first? Yep! Me!
This obstacle course was the hardest thing I have had to do in a long time. After I saw how high those trees were I started to panic a little because I am afraid of heights. But, I had a pep talk with CoCo (my alter ego) and with Jesus too. I was ready, excited and terrified at the same time.
It was hard to get pictures because you’re trying not to die. (Just kidding). The course is very safe. I got a few pictures for you guys and some video.
After completing the first course I was a pro. I was not scared at all and felt renewed and athletic even. Lol. I think that Park had 6 courses to complete and some were very hard and scary. I am so proud of myself for doing that and now I want to do it again. In all, I did 6 Obstacle courses and 5 zip lines across a pond. It was so fun. Time to find a new adventure. #sheready
