How I traveled to Paris and Rome for less than $2000 Total (spending money included)

To many, life has been about working to pay bills and not getting a chance to see the world. Some people I have spoken to feel that it will cost thousands to leave the country and actually be able to have a good time.
Let me say first that traveling abroad is very doable. You can do it. You just need to watch out for deals, plan for it and budget for it. I noticed that Groupon had tons of deals and one of my girlfriends had already taken a trip through Groupon and talked about how affordable and great it was. So, I started watching Groupon and planning my vacation.
I spotted a very affordable trip on Groupon and my friend Kim and I decided to book it. The designation was Paris and Rome. The cost was $899. This included airfare and hotel. WOW!! I was like ok, this is actually doable. We called Groupon and paid the $899.00 plus a little more for airport pick up and drop offs. In total we paid $1025.00. This also included insurance. (Note: Groupon also has payment plans, you will need to call the travel agency listing the deal and discuss with them. The down payment is only $200 and you will need to have your trip paid off at least 60 days before you leave). See how doable it is?
Now, on to the spending part. We decided to book our tours once we got to our destinations. I am glad we did this because the first day we arrived in Paris, we were exhausted and the time difference was very rough for us. We slept a half of day away on the first day. Keep the time difference in mind when pre-booking your tours because you will have to acclimate yourselves to the time change. Also, remember if you are traveling with someone, you guys can split the Cab and Uber costs to save money. Below is my actual spending for my 8 day Paris Rome trip. Your spending will be totally different from mine. My list below is only to give you an idea of what I spent vs what you could spend. You could actually spend wayyy less than me. My friend actually spent less than I did on the trip.
