Randomness: What is it about Starbucks?

My Saturday morning ritual has become that I get up, lolligag (not sure if that is an actual word) around the house, maybe cook breakfast and then off to Starbucks with my laptop.  What is it about Starbucks?  Usually when I go no matter what time of day it is, it is always crowded and the line is long to order.  Yet, we all continue to go like we are on crack and must get our daily fix.  A year ago, I did not even drink coffee, now I buy it on a regular.

I am sitting here looking around and notice the girl next to me is studying for a class.  The older gentlemen seem to be comfortable reading their newspapers and sitting in the comfortable leather chairs lining the wall.  The tables are covering the rest of the store and all filled with people like me working on their laptops.  The patio is full also, a few tables are filled with women who just finished the Memphis breast cancer walk and the rest are of random people reading or on their laptops.  One guy is just sitting and staring at nothing, possibly in deep thought.

Maybe Starbucks is soothing and comforting.  Maybe it is the ambiance.  The coffee is really good. Maybe it is the Starbucks brand that people just love to be associated with.  I have never thought of it bfore but sitting here, I think its all of those things.  I think it's cool that you can come to a place, chill for hours, use free wifi, meet new peoplee and even meet friends to hang out and chill.  I love it.  Yayy Starbucks.
