Afternoon everyone:
I
have been home packing the last few weeks for my move into a bigger place.
My headboard that I got from Pier One about 2
years ago recently started peeling.
It
looked horrible.
I started shopping for
a new one and then a lightbulb went off and I was like, wait a minute, Tonia
why are you trying to spend hundreds of dollars on a new headboard?
I had been scoping one out a new one at Pier
One.
It was on sale for like $299.
As I was laying in the bed on night, I looked
up at the torn bed and jumped up and started inspecting it.
Hmmm, how can I fix this one and make it
work.
There were screws in the
back.
I unhooked it from my bedframe and
started taking it a loose with my Phillips screwdriver.
The next day I went to Hancock’s Fabrics. Since they are going out of business, I
wanted to take advantage of their 80% off fabric sale. I found some nice neutral fabric that I liked
a lot and here is how it turned out. I
love it. I spent $10 on the fabric. I broke out the handle staple gun and went to
work… Looks like a brand new
headboard.
Moral to the story:
DON’T THROW IT AWAY YET!!! THINK ABOUT IF IT CAN BE RE-PURPOSED!!! SAVED
ME A LOT OF MONEY.
